We started StaycationOz to build the guide we wished existed when planning our own trips around Australia — specific, honest, and written by people who've actually walked the trail, sailed the boat, or stayed the night, rather than aggregated from other sites.
Every destination guide, tour recommendation and hotel pick on this site reflects a real visit or direct, verified experience. We tell you when something isn't worth the money, when the "best time to visit" everyone quotes is actually wrong, and when a quieter alternative beats the famous spot down the road.
We're a small, independent team based in Australia. We're not owned by a big travel conglomerate, and while some of our tour and hotel links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, that never determines what we recommend — a place either earns its spot on this site on merit, or it doesn't appear at all.
